Fleece and Fibre: Textile Producers of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, Francine McCabe’s recently published book, has been well received. We’re so excited to have this tangible resource and celebration of the bounty we have here in our Fibreshed!
If you haven’t yet seen it, you can borrow it from the Vancouver Island Regional Library or the Greater Victoria Public Library (though the waitlists are a bit long!). The book is available at many local booksellers and apparently also at BC Ferries gift shops! Digits & Threads, a Canadian online textile magazine, published a comprehensive book review. Montecristo Magazine published a beautiful excerpt from the book and included many of Fran’s wonderful photos. The Vancouver Sun included the book in its holiday gifting book list.
